Year 3 Britten and Lloyd-Webber Classes

Welcome to Year 3: Britten and Llyod-Webber

In Year 3, we believe in the importance of encouraging children to become independent learners who are confident to give new challenges a go.  We celebrate individual achievements and encourage children to collaborate within a team sharing their creativity and contribution skills.

We will use this class page to communicate information to you over the course of this academic year. It will be updated with curriculum and key information as well as photographs of the children in action. We look forward to a happy and productive relationship with you across the year. If you would like to contact a member of the team please do so via the school office (oakwood.office@discoverymat.co.uk).

All classes this year have been named after musical composers the children will be learning about their class name and then sharing any information they have found.  Please see below the staff working with your child this year:

Curriculum Overviews for Parents/Carers:
Keeping safe on social media

As you are aware, e-safety is embedded in our curriculum to ensure all children are able to make the right choices to stay safe online and know who to ask if they have any concerns. In this digital age, some of you might have concerns or questions about the use of social media by your child. The poster above may be useful to give you some ideas for having that ongoing conversation with your child about staying safe on social media. It is from the popular blog ‘The Ultimate Parent Guide for Protecting Your Child on the Internet’ (if you type it into google it will come up), which is extremely informative and well worth a read. Other useful websites include www.saferinternet.org.uk and www.nspcc.org.uk.

Please do not hesitate to also speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any concerns or would like more information.
